Scholarship Deadlines

Leola Z. Clark Scholarship for a Wellington Heights Student

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Foundation will award one $750 scholarship each year for four years. To be eligible:

  1. Applicant must live in Wellington Heights, which is bounded by 1st Ave NE, 19th St SE, Mount Vernon Rd SE, and 10th St. SE
  2. Applicant must have a financial need – annual family income cannot exceed $62,400
  3. Applicant must be graduating from high school during the current school year
  4. Applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary education in an accredited college, university, community college, vocational or technical school, not including continuing education
  5. Application must be completed in full.  
  6. You may find it helpful to prepare your essay responses in another document and then cut and paste your responses into this form.

Regional Airline Association Scholarship

The primary purpose of the Regional Airline Association Scholarship is to assist with the education of individuals who are studying for a career in the airline industry by providing financial support. hree (3) annual scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $4,000 per recipient. Awards will be made to U.S. citizens or permanent residents without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. Application is due April 30 and can be found here: https://www.raa.org/scholarship/

 

The 2024 Jerry Woods IRMCA Scholarship Application will be offered to a qualified student who is or will be pursuing a major course of study in the building trades, including concrete technology and practice. The scholarship recipient will attend, or plan to attend, an Iowa community college. Apply now. Completed applications need to be submitted no later than Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

 

Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation Scholarship

The Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation offers nine, $1,500 scholarships for students:

  • Are enrolled in a health care career program (Nursing, Paramedic, Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, Laboratory Sciences, PTA, OTA)
  • Live in, or graduated from high school in a community within the Grundy County Memorial Hospital service area of Butler, Grundy, Hardin, or Tama counties.
  • Who have completed at least one semester of their official, accredited health care program
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

The application can be found at www.grundycountyhospital.org and must be completed by May 31, 2024.

Professional Women’s Network (PWN) Scholarship 

To further promote the Professional Women’s Network’s mission of “women helping women” the PWN Scholarship Foundation will award up to four (4) scholarships of approximately $500 for the non-traditional students. The following requirements must be met:

Must be a female resident of Iowa.

Must be a student who will be attending classes, either full or part-time, during the academic year.

Must be working towards a vocational certification, associate degree, or first bachelor’s degree at one of the educational institutions listed below.

  • Coe College
  • Cornell College
  • Purdue University Global
  • Hawkeye Community College
  • Kirkwood Community College
  • Mercy/St. Luke’s School of Radiologic Tech
  • St. Luke’s Medical Technology Program
  • Mount Mercy University
  • University of Iowa
  • University of Northern Iowa
  • University of Dubuque (Cedar Rapids location)
  • A collegiate institution not listed above but located within a 60-mile radius of Linn County, Iowa.

Special consideration will be given to non-traditional students, defined as those at least 21 years old upon application deadline who have or will return to school after an absence of at least 3 years.

Mae Henry Family and Consumer Science Award

The Cedar Rapids Family and Consumer Science Association is excited to offer a $500 scholarship to any student graduating from the Grant Wood AEA region with an interest in pursuing a career in the area of Family and Consumer Science. Student must plan to pursue a four-year degree program of student in any area of Family and Consumer Science (may include study at a community college).

Eligible students must complete the application form,  include a letter explaining future educational and professional goals, and two reference letters from adults. Each reference letter should list the name, address, and phone number of the person writing the reference.

Allied Van Lines is a large moving company that is looking to provide a scholarship to three students whose area of study focuses on logistics and moving-related fields. Each scholarship is $1,000 and is available to current students and to those who are enrolling in college. Apply by Dec. 15 at www.allied.com/scholarship
